How to win this Black Friday

It’s 3 a.m. and you’re still feeling the turkey hangover, but that’s never stopped you from putting on your battle clothes and braving the Black Friday mobs. Whether you’re hunting for a great gift for him or a pretty pair of earrings to spoil yourself with, saving a few bucks on deals here and there can seriously expand your holiday gift-giving budget.

Black Friday is high on my list of favorite days. My family knows the annual drill. We spend time together on Thanksgiving Day feasting around the table, I make the game plan of what stores we’ll hit first and then we get a few hours of rest before I wake them for the journey through the night that lies ahead. I think I’m the only one who actually enjoys the rush of shoppers playing Santa in the middle of the night, faces lighting up over great sales and buying things not originally on the shopping list because it’s just too good of a deal to pass up. My family tends to drag behind me throughout the excitement, but they pull through every year. (Thanks, fam!)

To be honest, the last two years haven’t been the most thrilling. Sales are starting earlier and going on later. Employees are working during Thanksgiving Day rather than just the night to follow. It’s gotten to the point to where no one sees the reason to lose out on a night of good sleep for deals that they can either get right after their Thanksgiving dinner or later the next day when they’re bright-eyed and bushy tail. In fact, people don’t even necessarily need to leave the comfort of their homes with online deals.

Whether you’re like me and you want to enjoy the Black Friday magic or you’re like my family and would rather enjoy the dream that is your bed, feel like a winner this Black Friday with this compilation of discount codes from a few lovely local retailers. All sales valid beginning 11.27.15 unless otherwise specified.

Cheese and waffles (but not together), and golden sunsets are a few of her favorite things.
